Accessibility
SK Sturm Wirtschaftsbetriebe GmbH endeavours to make it's website www.sksturm.at accessible in accordance with the applicable legal requirements for accessibility. This accessibility statement applies to the website www.sksturm.at.
Status of compliance with requirements
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 – Conformance Level AA, as some content is not yet fully accessible. We are continuously working to further improve the accessibility of the website.Non-accessible content
a. Incompatibility with accessibility regulations
The following content and functions do not yet fully comply with WCAG 2.2 AA requirements and are therefore considered non-accessible:
- In several areas, keyboard operation is restricted – for example, due to missing visible focus markers or an illogical focus order (e.g. for sliders).
- Not all images with textual content have a meaningful alternative image description.
- The purpose of individual links is not always clearly recognisable, especially when the context is not provided.
- The hierarchical structure of the headings is sometimes not implemented correctly.
- When filtering news, users do not receive sufficient feedback – for example, on the selection made or the number of resultse.
- There are barriers in the labelling of mandatory fields, the display of errors and in the support for error prevention.
- Some interactive elements and navigation elements are not labelled with ARIA labels or are labelled inadequately.
- Due to the integration of a third-party cookie tool, operation via keyboard and screen reader is not guaranteed throughout.
- Navigation:
- The main menu cannot be closed with the Escape key.
- At a screen width of 320px, navigation is not fully functional..
- There is no ‘skip link’ to skip navigation and go directly to the main content.
- Some semantically correct HTML elements (e.g. <nav>, <footer>) and corresponding ARIA markup are missing in the navigation and footer.
b. Disproportionate burden
According to current estimates, the implementation of the following requirements represents a disproportionate burden:
- The complete re-editing of all YouTube videos with subtitles or transcripts is currently not feasible due to the large number of videos and technical limitations. This means that WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 (recorded audio description) is not met. We believe that rectifying this would constitute a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations.
c. The content does not fall within the scope of the applicable legislation
The following content is exempt from the applicable digital accessibility regulations:
- Third-party content that is not within the sphere of influence of SK Sturm Wirtschaftsbetriebe GmbH – such as embedded content from sponsors or external widgets.
- Live video content (e.g. livestreams), as this is not subject to the obligation to provide accessible content.
- There are no plans to revise news articles and PDF files published before 28 June 2025.
Please let us know if you have any difficulties with specific documents. We will endeavour to make them available to you in an accessible format.
